01 – TASK

Grips&Co, further development of an established junior event.

In recent years, the Grips&Co final – including the preliminary decision – has taken place as part of other food and drink industry events. In 2018, Grips&Co was to be developed into an independent event and receive an attractive concept for its visitors. The successfully established competition programme, including its qualification levels and the award for “Germany’s best young talent in food retailing”, had to remain unchanged.

02 – SOLUTION

Event final – with a sharpened profile for more independence and attractiveness.

The final concept for the Grips&Co was completely overhauled by Söllner Communications. The objective was to give the event an independent and unmistakable profile. This plan was successfully implemented. Grips&Co gained independence from external food and drink industry events and, in 2018, it took place for the first time in an appropriate and attention-grabbing location – the E-Werk in Cologne. The event was given a new appearance through varied and target group-relevant elements with clearly structured content. Grips&Co became significantly more attractive for all its participants.

TRAIN THE TRAINER – FUTURE SUCCESS FACTOR.

On the day of the preliminary decision, 50 Grips&Co elite candidates presented their contributions, from which the last 15 finalists were selected. Meanwhile, the accompanying instructors took part in a training day themed “Train The Trainer”. A varied informative and further-training programme was offered with lectures and workshops on practical topics with concrete references to daily tasks.

BRAIN FAME – FROM LOVE BRANDS TO RETAIL BRANDS.

Finally, Grips&Co final brought about an emotional connection to the industry with a mixture of knowledge transfers, networking and product purchases. There were lectures on the subject of love brands and a newly designed, interactive area for presentations, interaction and networking. Its set-up as an adventure playground stimulated lively debate with partners from the industry who presented different product groups. This was followed by the exciting Grips&Co final and the finalists’ party.

03 – SUCCESS

Grips&Co: Motivation and fun for the next generation.

There was nothing but positive feedback from the speakers, companies, as well as the junior staff and multipliers. The event’s main strength was its relevance to the industry, a user-oriented set-up and modern format. There was a combination of information transfer, networking, promotion of young talent, motivation for the industry and a whole lot of fun. The event was so successful that Grips&Co final will also be implemented independently in the coming years. Söllner Communication will again be supervising the event in planning, design and implementation in 2019. Grips&Co will again take place at the E-Werk in Cologne.
